TREASURE - TIME - TALENT

As a non-profit, we always need funds to accomplish our mission. You can help when you donate by mail, on-line banking, on-line through the Habitat for Humanity International website (www.habitat.org), through a United Way campaign designation, the Cars for Homes program, using Goodsearch.com for online searches and shopping, or supporting any fund raisers we hold. Perhaps you have building supplies you could donate.

We also need volunteers with the time to help in serving our organization. It can be anything from working in the office weekly, to helping with the newsletter mailing every quarter, or even helping out at our booths at fairs during the summer. We need volunteers who will commit their time and serve on committees to help keep the affiliate running smoothly.

We need volunteers with specific skills and abilities. Perhaps being a crew-leader on the construction site for a certain phase of the build. Possibly bringing grant writing expertise to the organization. How about retail background for the Restore. Maybe you could help us raise awareness of the need for adequate housing.

We are in dire need of a stable on-going funding base to operate successfully in the Klamath Basin. Just 400 $25 donations each month would build a house a year! With this in mind, Klamath Basin Habitat for Humanity has instituted a program called Foundation 400. This will be a group of dedicated individual, businesses, and churches who donate $25 or more each month. This dedicated group of donors will be a driving force that helps Klamath Basin Habitat for Humanity break the cycle of poverty in our area. As this community support grows, you will see Foundation 400 rise steadily through the ranks on our Honor Roll. We need your support. Become a driving force in our community. Join the Foundation 400 by donating $25 or more each month.

Credit Card Donations Online
If you would prefer to donate online by credit card, Habitat for Humanity International can now process the transaction for you. You will receive a receipt, and 89.6% of your donation will come to our affiliate if you specify "Klamath Basin Habitat for Humanity" as the affiliate you wish to support. Habitat International disburses these funds once a quarter, so it may be several months before we become aware of your contribution and mail a thank-you letter. You may click the box below and you will be linked to the affiliate donation processing page. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Your donation of a car can help a family build a house, and the hope of a better life! Car donations can help Klamath Basin Habitat for Humanity build houses in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable shelter. Please donate a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle to Habitat's Cars for Homes vehicle donation program so families in need of decent, affordable shelter can ultimately benefit!

Donations of Building Materials
We are now accepting new and usable building materials and home improvement items. Most of these items will go into our ReStore for resale. The ReStore is a discount building supply retail facility that recycles overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials donated by stores, manufacturers, contractors and individuals. These materials may be sold to the public or used in the construction of Habitat houses. The income generated from the Habitat ReStore helps expand the affiliate's construction program. Check out the ReStore tab at the top of the page for more information.

Volunteering

Klamath Basin Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with God and families in need. Though the vast majority have no construction experience or building skills, volunteers are involved in most phases of construction. By working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience for themselves the joy created when a family is able to realize their dream of home ownership.

Habitat volunteers contribute more than muscle. Creativity, strategy, and technical skills are among the many invaluable traits volunteers bring to the organization. With a minimal staff, Habitat for Humanity depends upon volunteer committees for support with projects like family selection, volunteer recruitment, fundraising and public awareness.

We invite volunteers to help us build, assist with getting our ReStore up and running, serve on committees, and help with special projects. Time commitments vary; some volunteers dedicate every day of the week to Habitat and others just volunteer once a year.  As a volunteer for Klamath Basin Habitat for Humanity, you can choose to volunteer as little or as often as you would like.

So we can get you started as a volunteer, please print out our volunteer information form. You can either complete it and mail to us, or you may send us an email with all the requested information.

We need some special people to help several of our committees become a stronger part of our organization. Could you bring your skills and talents to any of these committees?

  • Resource Development - Responsible for raising funds, and finding new sources of donations - whether financial or material.
  • ReStore - Responsible for determining all aspects of the ReStore - location, setting store policies, donations, personnel, hours of operation, etc.

  • Special Events - Responsible for special events as presented by the affiliate. Works closely with the Resource Development committee.
